visajobcheck keeps a daily copy of public registers of who may legally sponsor foreign workers, and preserves the differences between one day and the next.

Where the data comes from

UK data comes from the Home OfficeRegister of Worker and Temporary Worker licensed sponsors, published under the Open Government Licence v3.0. We fetch it every morning, store the raw file, and compare it against the previous copy.

Why history matters

The register is a snapshot with no memory. When an employer stops holding a licence, its row is simply absent from the next publication and no public record of the change survives. For someone whose visa depends on that employer, the change is the single most important fact about it.

How we word things

We say an entry was removed from the register on a date, because that is what we observed. We do not say a licence was revoked unless the Home Office has said so. Removal can follow revocation, suspension, voluntary surrender, or expiry, and licences are sometimes reinstated.

What we do not do

• We do not take money from the organisations listed. No paid entries, no verified badges, no sponsored placement. The moment a listed organisation can pay us, every status label on this site becomes worthless.
